PAINESVILLE, Ohio

The Lake Erie College Storm volleyball team heads to California, Pennsylvania today to play in a four-match tournament. The Storm will face West Liberty, Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Davis & Elkins, and Cal. Pa.

The Storm dropped three matches in their tournament last weekend but earned their first win against Davenport. Junior Courtney Rosebrook was named to the tournament team that Clarion hosted for her performance, earning 35 kills in four matches and recording a hitting percentage of .372. Senior libero Morgan Briggs is third in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference, accruing 72 digs last weekend and averaging 4.8 digs per set.

West Liberty began their season last weekend at the Eckard Classic. They fell to Tiffin to open the season (3-1), but won against Malone (3-1). West Liberty is currently ranked ninth in the Division II Atlantic Region.

IUP opened up their season last weekend as well, going 0-4 but playing no.1 in the nation Tampa (3-0 loss), Florida Southern, Valdosta State, and Hillsdale College. 

Cal. Pa, won against Fairmont State last weekend but dropped matches to Ashland, Notre Dame, and Felician to begin their season 1-3. The Vulcans are currently ranked sixth in the Division II Atlantic Region.

The Storm will open play for the weekend against West Liberty on Friday, September 13 at 3 pm followed by a 6 pm matchup against IUP later that evening. Live statistics for the tournament are not currently available.
