PAINESVILLE, Ohio- The Lake Erie College volleyball team will travel to Pepper Pike, Ohio for a Great Midwest matchup against the Ursuline College Arrows on Tuesday (Sept. 19) at 7:00 PM.
"We are excited for another conference match at Ursuline," said Storm head coach Kevin Foeman. "They are a very well coached team and we are looking forward to a great game tomorrow and another chance to improve as a team."
Storm Report: Lake Erie is 9-3 overall and 3-0 in the G-MAC following a 4-0 week last week. The Storm dispatched G-MAC opponents Davis & Elkins, Alderson Broaddus and Ohio Valley all in three set matches. The Storm also took down the Flagler College Saints in four sets. The Storm have won six consecutive matches.
Fisher Named East POW: Bethany Fisher (Orrville, Ohio / Dalton) was named East Division Player of the Week on Monday (Sept. 18) by the G-MAC. Fisher totaled 50 kills and a .343 hitting percentage in the Storm's four matches. She also made six blocks in the games.
"We were very pleased to see that Bethany was recognized by the GMAC for her performance this past week. She played very well against great competition and maximized all of her opportunities."
Opposition Position: Ursuline is 5-7 overall and 1-2 in Great Midwest play. The Arrows split a doubleheader on Saturday (Sept. 16) with a 3-2 win over Alderson Broaddus and a 3-1 loss vs. Mount Vernon Nazarene.
Series History: Lake Erie and Ursuline have met three times on the court in the series. Lake Erie has won two of the three matches, including the match last season. The Storm defeated the Arrows 3-1 as a part of the Storm's eight match win streak.
Storm Forecast: Lake Erie will travel to Cedarville and Ohio Dominican on Friday (Sept. 22) and Saturday (Sept. 23), respectively.
