PAINESVILLE, Ohio- The Lake Erie College volleyball will look to close their current five game home stand on a high note with a non-conference matchup with local rival Notre Dame College on Tuesday (Oct. 11).
Storm Report: Lake Erie has a record of 11-7 overall and 4-4 in the GLIAC. The Storm fell to the Saginaw Valley Cardinals in five sets on Saturday (Oct. 8) at home.
GLIAC Honorable Mention: Freshman Brooke Peiffer (Lansing, Mich. / Holt) was named GLIAC Honorable Mention for the South Division. In two matches, Peiffer totaled 29 kills, 14 digs, one service ace and three blocks combined.
Series History: The Storm and the Falcons have met ten times in the past seven years. After losing the first two matchups, Lake Erie has won eight straight against Notre Dame. The Storm defeated Notre Dame 3-1 and 3-0 in the two matches last season.
Opposition Position: Notre Dame College enters the matchup with a 10-9 record overall. The Falcons defeated the Yellow Jackets of West Virginia State University last weekend 3-1.
Storm Forecast: Lake Erie will hit the road to head to Aurora, Illinois where they will compete in the Mizuno Midwest Region Crossover. The Storm will face three teams playing from the G-MAC (Great Midwest Athletic Conference) and GLVC (Great Lakes Valley Conference) this weekend.
