PAINESVILLE, Ohio—The Lake Erie College volleyball team opened up Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) play Friday (Set. 18), falling to Hillsdale College in four sets.
The Storm won set one 25-21 but the Chargers captured the last three 25-16, 25-21 and 25-12.
In set one, Madison Russell (Westerville, Ohio/Westerville South) led the Storm with five kills. Crystal Kedroske (Dexter, Mich./Dexter) had six digs while Brittany Levkulich (Perry, Ohio/Perry) had five.
Leondra Barrett (Chattanooga, Tenn./Ooltewah) led the Storm with three kills in the second set while Kedroske had three digs. In set three, Russell and Barrett had four kills apiece while Gabrielle Woods (Elyria, Ohio/Brookside) had three. Levkulich had six digs while Alexis Thomas (Cincinnati, Ohio/Fairfield) had five. Russell led the Storm with three kills in the final set while Kedroske had eight digs.
Russell ended the game with a team-high 13 kills. Barrett added 11. Woods recorded six kills while Kedroske had five. Kedroske led the Storm with 22 digs while Levkulich had 17. Thomas and Courtney Stedman (Mount Prospect, Ill./Hersey) combined for 31 assists.
The Storm is back in action Saturday (Sept. 19), hosting the University of Findlay.
