Storm Start Season Off With A 2-0 Victory

(Pittsburgh, PA.) - The Lake Erie Storm women's soccer team fought to a 2-0 victory against Carlow on Friday evening at Highmark Stadium in Pittsburgh. 

The Storm opened up the season with a (1-0-0) start to the 2019 season. Coming out very physical, the Storm got on the board first at 15:41 mark on a play set up by an assist from Peyton Frankovich to Haley Scherer

Scherer was not done scoring for the day. With ten minutes left in the first half, Scherer placed a shot on goal that was deflected by Carlow goalie Lauren Forte but was quickly put back by Scherer. 

Megan Biddell got the start at goalkeeper for the Storm where her defensive plays helped secure her first win and shutout of the season. Biddell saved 4 of 7 shots by the Celtics. 

The Storm will travel to West Virginia on Tuesday, Sept. 10, when they will face Glenville State.
