(PAINESVILLE, Ohio) – The Lake Erie College women's soccer team has released its schedule for the 2019 and will feature seven home games. The overall schedule will be a 17-game slate, up one contest from last year's campaign.
While the majority of contests are on the road, it will still be travel-friendly for the Storm as four of those games take place within a 1 ½-hour drive from campus with two of those just 30 minutes away.
The season will start in Pittsburgh as Lake Erie battles Carlow on Saturday, Sept. 7. The Steel City showdown is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start and will be the first of three consecutive non-conference road games to start the season. The other contests take place the following week at Glenville State (W.Va.) and Notre Dame College in nearby Lyndhurst.
The G-MAC opener will be in the friendly confines of Jack Britt Memorial Stadium when the Storm take on local rival Ursuline. Kickoff with the Arrows is set for 6 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 21. It's the first in a three-game home stand that will also welcome Findlay and Tiffin to the Britt.
From there, the Green and White will on the road the first two weeks of October. The first week of games will be travel friendly as Lake Erie heads down I-77 to battle Malone and Walsh on October 3 and 5, respectively. The longest road trip of the season follows with games at Kentucky Wesleyan and Trevecca Nazarene the next weekend.
Senior Night is currently set for Saturday, Nov. 2, against Alderson Broaddus. The regular season finale will come three days later down the road at Ursuline in Pepper Pike.
