Awuah's Goal Lifts Storm Over Ursuline

PAINESVILLE, Ohio—The Lake Erie College women's soccer team concluded the non-conference schedule with a 1-0 victory of Ursuline College Tuesday (Sept. 27) at home.

The Storm (6-, 1-1 GLIAC) got on the board first in the opening half.  Twenty-three minutes in, Ashley Pryce (Stow, Ohio/Stow Munroe Falls) got behind her defender and found Elizabeth Awuah (Pickerington, Ohio/Pickerington Central) at the top of the box.  Awuah buried her shot in the back of the net to put the Storm ahead.

Marissa Brannon (Concord, Ohio/Lake Catholic) made four saves in the opening half.

The Storm defense stepped up in the second half, limiting the Arrows to just five shots in the 45 minutes.  The Storm outshot the Arrows 6-5 in the frame but neither found the back of the back as Lake Erie held on for the win.

The Storm goal was Awuah's fourth of the season and third game winner.  It also marked Pryce's second assist.

Brannon ended the game with six saves.

The Storm is back in action Friday (Sept. 30) at Saginaw Valley State University.
