Storm Wins Road Opener at Urbana, 2-1

URBANA, Ohio- The Lake Erie College women's soccer team opened the road portion of the 2016 season with a come-from-behind victory against the Urbana University Blue Knights. The Storm improved to 2-0-0 with a 2-1 win on Saturday (Sept. 3).

The Blue Knights jumped out to a 1-0 lead on a header by Monica Tenorio in the 20th minute of the game. Urbana held a 1-0 lead at the half.

In the 60th minute, Lake Erie tied the game at one goal apiece. Elizabeth Roesch (Pickerington, Ohio / Pickerington Central) found the back of the net with a free kick from 35 yards out. Less than ten minutes later, Ashley Pryce (Stow, Ohio / Stow Munroe Falls) took the lead with a goal following an assist from Aleeya Clemons (Olean, NY / Olean). Pryce's goal in the 69th minute was her third goal of the young season. The defense held the Blue Knights at bay and the Storm brought a 2-1 win back to Painesville.

In the net, Marissa Brannon (Concord, Ohio / Lake Catholic) allowed only one goal while making six saves for the Storm.

The Storm will travel to take on Carlow University next Saturday (Sept. 10).
