ELKINS, WV – The Lake Erie College women's soccer team was defeated today (September 15th) by Davis and Elkins College, 3-1. With the loss the Storm falls to 1-3 overall and with the win the Senators improve to 3-1 on the season.
The Storm jumped out to an early lead when Ashley Pryce (Stow, Ohio / Stow Munroe Falls) found the back of the net off of an assist by Kynslie Murphy (Parma, Ohio / Valley Forge), to make the score 1-0 in favor of the Storm. The Senators tied the game at 1-1 when Katrina Giantsopoulos scored off of an assist by Kaitlyn Buoni with 15 minutes remaining in the first half. The Senators took the lead with three minutes remaining in the first half when Giantsopoulos scored, to make the score 2-1 in favor of Davis and Elkins.
In the second half, Buoni scored off of an assist by Giantsopoulos to give the Senators a 3-1 advantage.
In net for the Storm was Marissa Brannon (Boardman, Ohio / Cardinal Mooney), she faced 12 shots, four of which were on goals, and made one save.
Lake Erie will be back in action Friday (September 18th) when they travel to open conference play against Malone at 4 P.M.
