PAINESVILLE, Ohio – The Lake Erie College women's soccer team was defeated today (September 6th) by the University of Indianapolis, 2-1. With the loss the Storm falls to 0-2 overall and with the win the Greyhounds improve to 1-1 on the season.
Ashley Pryce (Stow, Ohio / Stow Munroe Falls) opened the scoring with an unassisted goal with 15 minutes left in the first half, to give the Storm a 1-0 advantage.
In the second half, the Greyhounds tied the game when Elizabeth Berhends scored off of a free kick. The Greyhounds scored again when Stephanie Burdsall scored off of a free kick, to give the University of Indianapolis a 2-1 advantage.
In net for the Storm was Marissa Brannon (Concord, Oh / Lake Catholic), she faced 20 shots, 14 of which were on goal, made 12 saves, and allowed two goals.
Lake Erie will be back in action Friday (September 11th) when they travel to take on Daeman College at 3 P.M.
