TIFFIN, Ohio – The Lake Erie College women's soccer team was victorious today (October 26th) over Tiffin University, 2-0. With the win the Storm improve to 7-8-1 overall and 3-6-1 in the conference, and with the loss the Dragons fall to 2-14 overall and 1-9 in conference play.
In the first half the Storm opened the scoring at the 36 minute mark when sophomore midfielder Bethany Haramis (Norton, Ohio / Norton) scored off of a free kick taken by freshman Alecia Dipre (Mentor, Ohio / Mentor) to give the Storm a 1-0 advantage.
Later in the first half Lake Erie College widened the margin when sophomore forward Elizabeth Awuah (Pickerington, Ohio / Pickerington Central) scored an unassisted goal to give the Storm a 2-0 lead.
In net for the Storm was senior Sarah Stroope (Oxford, Mich. / Oxford) she faced 17 total shots, eight of which were on frame, made eight saves, and allowed zero goals.
Lake Erie College will be back in action when they travel to take on the University of Findlay on Thursday (October 30th) at 4 P.M.
