PAINESVILLE, OHIO – An early second half goal from Saginaw Valley State University (5-6-1, 4-6-1 GLIAC) was too much for Lake Erie College (1-12-1, 0-10 GLIAC) to overcome in a 1-0 home loss on a rainy night at Jack Britt Memorial Stadium.

Sophomore Megan Baldacci (Cavecreek, Ariz./Cactus Shadows), currently in the top 10 in saves in Division II, made seven stops to help keep Lake Erie in the match.

Saginaw Valley State won the battle of shots, 18-3, and held a 6-2 edge in corner kicks.

After a scoreless first half, the Cardinals scored the game's lone goal in the 55th minute as freshman Olivia Perrin took a deep pass from Samantha Echols and converted from five yards out.

The Storm plays their final home match of the season Sunday against Northwood University with a noon start on Senior Day.
