PAINESVILLE, OHIO – It took over 85 minutes of game action for either team to score, but for Lake Erie College (1-1) the wait was worth the payoff as sophomore Ally Miller (Mantua, Ohio/Crestwood) scored in the 86th minute for a 1-0 victory over the University of Pittsburgh-Johnstown at Jack Britt Memorial Stadium in Painesville, Ohio

In goal for the Storm, sophomore Megan Baldacci (Cavecreek, Ariz./Cactus Shadows) made three saves for her second career shutout.
Lake Erie held a 20-6 edge in shots and 7-0 margin in corner kicks.
The first half was controlled by the Storm as a moderate rain fell but they were unable to capitalize on the scoreboard. Lake Erie had a 7-2 edge on shots and a 6-0 advantage on penalty kicks. However, both Lady Cats shots were serious tests for Baldacci, who answered the call on both.
Lake Erie only further turned the pressure on in the second half, keeping the ball down in the Lady Cats zone for prolonged stretches. The Storm had 13 shots in the half but did not get the one golden scoring look they were looking for until late in the action. Lake Erie finally broke through at 85:37 when Miller scored from 15 yards out on the right side.
The Storm is in action next on Friday as they host the University of Findlay in the GLIAC opener with first touch slated for 4:30 p.m.
