Storm Wrestling Set for Regional Championships (PREVIEW)

SUPER REGION II CHAMPIONSHIPS

Feb. 26-27

The Lake Erie College wrestling team travels to Indianapolis for the 2016 Super Region II Championships. 

NATIONAL IMPLICATIONS: The top four finishers in each weight class will advance to the 2016 NCAA Division-II Championships March 11-12 in Sioux Falls, S.D.

IN THE RAKINGS: The Storm enter the regional championships ranked 12th in the country. 157-pounder Christian Baughman is ranked eighth, 165-pounder Matt Vandermeer (Clarkston, Mich./Clarkston) is ranked seventh and 197-pounder Evan Rosborough is ranked eighth.  Additionally, 133-pounder Austin Gillihan (Corry, Pa./Corry Area) is ranked sixth and 174-pounder Nicholas Vandermeer (Clarkston, Mich./Clarkston) is ranked third regionally. 

GLIAC CHAMPS: The Storm shared the 2015-16 GLIAC Championship with the University of Findlay.  This marked the third straight championship for the Storm.

ALL-GLIAC: Gillihan, Nick Boggs (Concord, Ohio/Riverside), Matt Vandermeer and Nicholas Vandermeer earned All-GLIAC First-Team honors while Forrest Glogouski (New Paris, Ind./Fairfield), Tyler Hughes (Brunswick, Ohio/Brunswick), Rosborough and Noah Hosking (Milford, Mich./Milford) earned Second-Team honors.
