(FINDLAY, Ohio) – Lake Erie fell in its penultimate game of the regular season with a 17-7 defeat at Findlay on Friday afternoon. The Storm dropped to 7-8 overall on the year and 4-2 in the G-MAC, while the Oilers improved to 7-9 and 5-1.
The Storm were hoping to host the G-MAC tournament once again, but needed to win today and Sunday at Tiffin. Regardless of Sunday's result, the Green and White will be returning to the postseason at a site to be determined.
Chloe Nottingham led the offensive attack for the Storm with four goals in the game. Meagan Maxwell helped set up the offense with four assists. She added a goal to total five points on the day. Anna Spin also found the back of the net on two occasions.
Defensively Cynthia Saxby led Lake Erie with five ground balls. Alexis Barrickman picked up three. Harmony Moore was tested throughout the day and hit double-digits once again in the save department with 10.
Findlay was paced by Brie Caruso who registered seven goals. Ciara Barud added three goals and two assists.
The Storm will close the regular season at Tiffin on Sunday afternoon.
