PAINESVILLE, OHIO – First-year Lake Erie College women's lacrosse head coach Jillian Howley inked her first recruit during the early signing period as Katie Holden (Whitby, Ontario/Anderson Collegiate) signed a letter of intent to play for the Storm beginning with the 2013 season.
"We are extremely excited to have Katie be a part of the Storm women's lacrosse family next year," Howley said. "She is athletic, hard-working, and passionate. She will contribute to our team both on and off the field."
Holden, a goalkeeper, played three sports in high school: lacrosse, hockey and volleyball. She was a four-year fixture in goal in lacrosse and helped her team to an Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations (OFSAA) Grade Nine title. On the court, she was a two-year captain at middle hitter for the volleyball team that won a Lake Ontario Secondary School Athletics (LOSSA) championship.
"Katie is a standout in all three sports and we are fortunate that she choose to continue her lacrosse career with us at Lake Erie College," Howley added. "We look forward to having her on campus and on our team next season."
