Storm Roll Over Arrows

PAINESVILLE, Ohio

The Lake Erie College Storm won their second straight game this evening over the Great Midwest Athletic Conference foe, the Ursuline College Arrows with a final score of 89-66.

With the win, the Storm improves to 7-12 with a conference record of 4-3 and sit in sixth place in the conference, while the Arrows fall to 7-12 and 4-3 in the G-MAC and are in eleventh.

Although Ursuline scored first, Lake Erie had a dominant showing, taking it back and maintaining a lead for the rest of the contest (38:14). Their best quarter of play came in the second, as the Storm shot 73 percent from the field, 80 percent from beyond the arc, and 83 percent from the charity stripe, and extended their lead to 10 points with 46 seconds left to play in the half, which was their largest lead of the game.

Leading the Storm offensively tonight was Storm junior Breanna Bauer. Bauer recorded her second double-double of the season with 23 points scored and 10 boards. Bauer has recorded double-figure points in 12 games so far throughout her junior season, double-figure rebounds in two games, and this is her third twenty-point game recorded as a junior.

Adding 19 points, eight boards, and four assists was Storm senior Josie Chaddock. This is Chaddock's 14th game in double-figures throughout the 2019-2020 season.

Lainey Billing came off the bench and added 15 points, her fourth game recording double-figure points as a sophomore.

"We had a whole week or so to practice, and I really wanted to focus on making our offense more fluid.", said head coach Kenzie Perttu. "Being confident as shooters is something we have been talking about all year, but this past week it's really been an emphasis. It really paid off today. This is the best all-around team effort, and it feels so good to see balanced scoring at high efficiency."

The Storm is back in action at the Osborne Center on Thursday, Jan. 16 against the eighth-place team in the conference, Ohio Dominican. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m.
