PAINESVILLE, Ohio - The Lake Erie College women's basketball team will conclude the month of January with a home conference matchup with the Davis & Elkins College Senators on Tuesday (Jan. 30) night at the Osborne Center. The matchup with the Senators is the penultimate game of the Storm's seven-game homestand.
Storm Report: Lake Erie is 9-11 overall and 5-9 in the G-MAC following two losses to G-MAC opponents last week. The Storm fell 71-60 to Cedarville and 81-67 to Ursuline. Kayla Gabor (Mentor, Ohio / Mentor) is one of three players that are tied for the top scoring average in the G-MAC. She is tied with Laney Lewis (Ursuline) and Aliyah Dukes (Davis & Elkins) with 19.6 points per contest.
Opposition Position: Davis & Elkins travels to Painesville with an overall record of 6-13 and a G-MAC record of 4-11. The Senators fell at home to the Walsh Cavaliers in their last contest, 67-61. Dukes is the leading scorer for the Senators with 19.6 points per game.
Series History: The Storm holds a 2-1 series advantage after Lake Erie defeated D&E 87-65 in December. Gabor set a career-high with 35 points in the game. The Senators defeated the Storm 81-74 in double overtime in 2016 and the Storm won in 2013, 98-85.
Storm Forecast: The Storm will begin the month of February with a home contest against Ohio Valley on Saturday (Feb. 3) at 3:00 PM.
