PAINESVILLE, Ohio - After eight consecutive road contests, the Lake Erie College women's basketball team will conclude 2017 with a home matchup with the Trevecca Nazarene University Trojans on Saturday (Dec. 30) at 3:00 PM.
Storm Report: Lake Erie is 5-5 overall and 2-3 in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference following an 70-51 loss at Kentucky Wesleyan on Dec. 19. Kayla Gabor led the Storm with 20 points while Christine Dawson added a double-double (17 points, 15 rebounds). Gabor leads the G-MAC with an average of 21.1 points per game.
Program Scoring Record: Gabor broke the women's basketball scoring record in the game on Dec. 19th. With a free throw with 6:18 left in the second quarter, Gabor surpassed Amber Garnet (1,459 points) for the record in her 92nd game. She also ranks first in career field goals (571) and fourth in three pointers made (155).
Opposition Position: The Trojans currently have an overall record of 3-9 and a conference record of 1-5. Trevecca fell 76-69 to Ursuline College in their last game on Dec. 19th. The leading scorer is Callie Hackett, who averages 16.4 points per game.
Series History: The Storm and the Trojans have not faced off on the court since the Storm joined Division II in 2009.
Storm Forecast: The Storm will host Hillsdale on January 4th, the beginning of an 11 game month of January, including nine at the Osborne Center.
