PAINESVILLE, Ohio – The Lake Erie College women's basketball team will complete a string of eight consecutive road contests on Tuesday (Dec. 19) afternoon. The Storm will travel to Owensboro, Kentucky for a Great Midwest contest against the Kentucky Wesleyan College Panthers, with tip-off at 2:00 PM.
Storm Report: Lake Erie is 5-4 overall and 2-2 in the G-MAC following a split trip to West Virginia last week. The Storm fell 75-67 to Alderson Broaddus on Thursday (Dec. 14) but ended the weekend with an 87-65 triumph over Davis & Elkins behind Kayla Gabor (Mentor, Ohio / Mentor) and her career-high 35 points. Gabor leads the G-MAC with an average of 21.2 points per game.
Program Scoring Record: Gabor enters the contest on Tuesday closing in on the Lake Erie women's basketball program record for career scoring. Gabor trails the program leader, Amber Garnet (1,459 points) by six points.
Opposition Position: The Panthers currently have an overall record of 5-4 and a conference record of 1-4. Kentucky Wesleyan defeated Trevecca Nazarene 72-63 on Saturday for their first G-MAC victory. Keelie Lamb is the leading scorer for the Panthers with an average of 12.1 points per game.
Series History: The Storm and the Panthers have not faced off on the court since the Storm joined Division II in 2009.
