PAINESVILLE, Ohio- The Lake Erie College women's basketball team will look to snap a three game slide as they travel to Columbus for a GLIAC South matchup with the Ohio Dominican Panthers on Monday (Jan. 30).
Storm Report: Lake Erie is currently 7-12 overall and 5-8 in the GLIAC. The Storm fell to Hillsdale on Thursday (Jan. 26) 67-65. Kayla Gabor (Mentor, Ohio / Mentor) led the Storm with 19 points and six rebounds. Josie Chaddock (Minerva, Ohio / Minerva) added ten points and Farrah Benner (Brunswick, Ohio / Brunswick) scored a career-high eight points.
"Both Hillsdale and Ohio Dominican offer similar challenges this week," said Storm head coach Bob Booher. "Both have multiple scorers who can hurt you and both rebound very well. Defensively they make you work for good shots which when considering their style of play explains why both have winning records."
Opposition Position: Ohio Dominican enters the matchup with the Storm with a 14-6 overall record and a 9-4 conference mark thus far. The Panthers defeated the Chargers 70-68 on Saturday (Jan. 28). Lauren Bates is the leading scorer for ODU, with an average of 13 points per game.
Series History: Lake Erie dropped both matchups to the Panthers last season. In the overall series, the Storm has a 6-8 record against Ohio Dominican.
Storm Forecast: The Storm will host Tiffin and Walsh this week at the Osborne Center.
