Rogers Named GLIAC South Player of the Week

PAINESVILLE, OHIO -- Lake Erie College junior post Stephanie Rogers (Mentor, Ohio/Mentor) was named the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) South Division Player of the Week by the league office on Monday (Dec. 6), becoming the first Storm women's basketball player to receive the honor.

Rogers averaged 21.5 points, eight rebounds, 4.5 blocks and 2.5 steals in two games last week as the Storm (2-3) opened conference play with a 1-1 record.  She made 75 percent of her field goal attempts (18-of-24) and played a team-high 63 minutes in the two contests.

In the team's GLIAC debut, Rogers had a huge game, leading all players with 25 points, nine rebounds and a career-high eight blocked shots in Lake Erie's 78-72 win at Wayne State University Thursday (Dec. 2).  Then on Saturday, in a loss at Hillsdale, she led the team with 18 points and seven rebounds.

Rogers and the Storm play their first GLIAC home game on Saturday, Dec. 11, against Ashland University at 3 p.m.
