STORM RETURNS TO COURT FROM BREAK: Returning to the court for the first time in 11 days, the Lake Erie College women's basketball team will look to win its sixth straight game overall on Saturday, Jan. 23, at home against fellow D-II independent Urbana University.  The Storm has not played since a 91-60 win over Ursuline College on Jan. 12.

SERIES HISTORY: Urbana has won all four of the previous meetings between the two teams, including three games last season.  The series began in 1988-89 (87-32 Urbana win) but did not resume again until last November.  The Blue Knights won last year's games by scores of 71-68, 69-49 and 60-57.

LAST TIME OUT FOR THE STORM: Lake Erie connected on a season-high 12 three-pointers and outrebounded visiting Ursuline 52-36 to snap a six-game series losing streak against the Arrows with a 91-60 win back on Jan. 12.  Five players reached double figures for the Storm, including 21 from sophomore guard Jen Caiola and 20 from sophomore post Stephanie Rogers.  Junior Alyssa Wagers recorded a double-double with 12 points and 14 rebounds, while sophomore guard Britt Busson added a season-high 14 points and a career-high five steals.

HELPING HANDS: The Storm matched a season-high with 21 assists in the win over Ursuline. Senior guard Renese Ames and freshman Sarah Wojciechowski each set a career-high with seven assists.

SATURDAY NIGHT'S ALL RIGHT: With the 74-63 win at Central State, Lake Erie improved to 5-0 this season on Saturdays.  Five of the Storm's final six games fall on that day of the week.

SO FAR, SO GOOD: Since the calendar flipped to 2010 three weeks ago, the Storm has not lost, posting a 4-0 mark so far in the new year.

BOOHER HITS 50-WIN MARK: With a 67-64 win at Fairmont State on Jan. 3, head coach Bob Booher became the first coach in Lake Erie history to reach the 50-win plateau. Booher is 52-72 at the school.

IN RARE AIR: The 13 wins by the Storm this season are the second most in a single season in school history (16, 2007-08).  Only six teams in LEC's 30 years have reached double figures in wins, including three in the last four years.
This is the 30th season in Lake Erie women's basketball history dating back to the 1978-79 season.  To date, the Storm has posted an overall record of 165-498 (.249).  However, over 31 percent of the program's all-time wins have come in the last five seasons under head coach Bob Booher.

THINK PINK: On Feb. 6, the Storm will take part in the GLIAC Pink Wave to raise awareness for breast cancer research.  All proceeds from the men's and women's doubleheader against Central State will benefit the Kay Yow WBCA Cancer Fund.  Lake Erie's teams and staff will wear pink shooting shirts and accessories during the games.

UP NEXT: The Storm hits the road to play at Seton Hill University Tuesday night, Jan. 26, at 7 p.m.
