(Painesville, Ohio) - The Lake Erie College Track and Field and Cross Country head coach Giles Davis has announced the addition of former All-American distance runner Dalton Graham as an assistant coach.
Coach Davis had high praise of the newest member of his staff with the hiring of Graham.
"I'm so excited to welcome Dalton Graham to the coaching staff. Dalton was a fierce competitor for the Storm who currently holds eight school records. Coach Graham will be a great motivator and will work tirelessly to help build our cross-country/distance program to have a strong presence at the conference and national levels," said Davis.
The Gomer, Ohio, native earned his bachelor's degree in sport studies from Lake Erie in 2017. Graham received his masters in sports psychology from Adams State University in 2019. While at Adams State, Graham achieved the honors of NCAA DII All-American and gained national championship experience. In his new role, Graham will bring experience and training in distance running for both the Track and Field and Cross Country teams.
"I am very excited to be back with Lake Erie College as a member of the coaching staff. After doing my undergraduate studies here and competing for the Storm I feel I have a lot to offer. I am eager to get on campus and go to work with our current runners and I am motivated to build on the vision I have for the program, said Graham about his new role at Lake Erie.
"As a 5,000-meter DII All-American and a member of a DII National Team Cross Country with a Sport Studies Undergraduate Degree and a Sport Psychology Masters Degree, I look to use the culmination of my schooling, athletic experience, and guidance under a Hall of Fame coach in Damon Martin (Adams State) to positively impact the student-athletes, coaching staff, and community around me."
The Storm Cross Country team begins its 2019 season on September 14 competing in the Tiffleberg Open hosted by Heidelberg University.
