(INDIANAPOLIS) – The Great Midwest Athletic Conference announced its track & field all-conference teams this afternoon and Lake Erie has six student-athletes named. The group consists of Sydney Crouch, Luca Hartman, Johanna Moeller, Hailey Nielsen, Imane Snyder, and Ashley West.
"The objective for the 2018-19 season was to have a presence at the G-MAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships, and the women competed exceptionally well at this year's championship," said Head Coach Giles Davis. "This group earning all-conference honors is a reflection to their commitment and dedication to the program and it's short and long term goals."
Crouch and Hartman placed in a pair of events at the G-MAC Championships two weeks ago as she was a member of both the 4x100 meter and 4x400 meter relay teams. The 4x100 squad finished third with a time of 48.3, while the 4x400 quartet clocked in at 4:03.63 to place sixth.
Moeller also placed in a pair of individual events. She made the podium with a third place finish in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 14.89. The German native added a fourth place finish in the long jump with a mark of 5.31 meters.
Nielsen also made the podium in Hillsdale with a third place finish in the heptathlon. She won the 200 meter dash and the 800 meter run in the event. She added a second place finish in the javelin and a third place finish in the high jump as well.
Snyder's rookie year was a stellar campaign as she placed in three events at the G-MAC championships two weeks ago at Hillsdale. She finished fourth in the 200 with a time of 25.33, sixth in the 100 at 12.34, and was also a member of the fifth place 4x100 relay team.
West was also on that 4x100 relay team in addition to the 4x400 relay team as the opening leg in both.
As all of the aforementioned student-athletes will return with most underclassmen, the future looks promising for the Lake Erie Storm thin clads.
