(NORTH CANTON, Ohio) – The Lake Erie Track & Field team had a short trip this weekend as the Storm headed down I-77 to Stark County for the Walsh Invitational. Plenty of Green and White thin clads did well on the day with multiple placers.
On the women's side, Josie Chaddock placed third in the high jump with a height of 1.63 meters to take top honors for Lake Erie. Lillian Putney continued her impressive season with a sixth place finish in the pole vault with a height of 3.15 meters.
The 4x100 meter relay team of West, Snyder, Hartman, and Crouch took sixth with a time of 49.93. Johanna Moeller placed seventh in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 15.10. .Ashley West was eighth in the 400 meters with a time of 59.83.
On the men's side, Montrell DeVaughn and Joseph Elson Jr. went back-to-back in the 400 meters with DeVaughn taking fourth and Elson Jr. coming in third. DeVaughn won at 49.35 with Elson Jr. right behind at 49.8. The 4x100 finished sixth with a time of 44.10 as Welch, Elson Jr., White, and DeVaughn made up the quartet.
