(OBERLIN, Ohio) – With a strong contingent of athletes at Oberlin's BSN Sports Invitational on Friday, Lake Erie dotted the result board at the Heisman Field House. Johanna Moeller has one of the best days by anyone on the team as she placed first in two events.
The Storm women made their presence known in the women's 400 meter dash as Luca Hartman won the event with a time of 1:01.32. Sydney Crouch finished second at 1:02.57. Imane Snyder came in fourth with a time of 1:05.43.
The 60 meter hurdles were also successful for Lake Erie as Johanna Moeller won with a time of 9.46. Nyla Fuqua was second at 9.65. The two also placed in the 60 meter dash. Fuqua was second in the 60 meter dash with a time of 8.3 in the finals, while Moeller was fifth in the same event with a time of 8.42.
Moeller's impressive day continued with a win in the long jump. Her best mark came at 5.45 meters on her second attempt and won by over a foot. Crouch was third in the same event at 4.85 meters.
In the distance events, Emma Korrir placed sevent in the 3,000 meter run with a time of 12:56.43.
In the field, Lillian Putney was second in the pole took the silver in the pole vault with a mark of 3.13 meters. Paige Tranchida placed sixth in the shot put with a mark of 10.48 meters.
On the men's side, Joseph Elson Jr. scored a first place finish with a time of 51.02 in the 400 meter dash.
Tareeq Welch turned in another top performance with a second place finish in the 60 meter dash after he clocked in at 7.24. He was also a top finisher in the 200 with a time of 23.96 to place fifth.
Terrance White squeaked into the placements at eighth in the 400. He finished with a time of 55.46.
In the distance events, Brandon Bryan finished third in the 3,000 meter run with a time of 9:27.03.
In the field events, Thomas Covington placed fourth with a distance of 5.96 meters on his fourth attempt. Jaylen Johnson was also fourth in the shot put. His best throw came on his fourth attempt and dropped at 12.03 meters.
