Storm Competes at Amy Adams Invitational

NEW CONCORD, Ohio - The Lake Erie track and field team was in action today as they competed in the Amy Adams Invite at Muskingham University.

The Storm women were led by Luca Hartman (Bonnievale, South Africa / Hcei Meisieskod Bloemhof) as she took second place in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:02.93 minutes.  Gina Henley (Akron, New York / Akron HS) earned second place honors in the 3000 meter steeplechase as she crossed the line in a time of 12:3.85 minutes.  Madyson Plante (Marlborough, Mass. / Marlborough) added a second place finish in the high jump as she cleared a height of 1.57 meter or five feet 1.75 inches.  Hailey Nielsen (Jonesville, Mich. / Jonesville) placed third in the long jump as she cleared a distance of 5.04 meters or 16 feet 6.5 inches. 

The Storm men were led by Montrell Devaughn (Canton, Ohio / Canton McKinely) as he earned first place honors in the 400 meter dash in a time of 50.53 seconds.  Joseph Elson (Mount Gilead, Ohio / Mount Gilead) took third in the 400 meter dash in a time of 50.89 seconds.  Brandon Bryan (Geneva, Ohio / Geneva) added a third place finish in the 3000 meter steeplechase, as he crossed the line in a time of10:28.66 minutes. 

Lake Erie will return to the track Saturday (March 31) when they travel to compete in the Yellow Jacket Collegiate Open.
