PAINESVILLE, Ohio – The Lake Erie College track and field team will be in action Friday (February 12th) as they travel to Grand Valley St. to compete in the Big Meet. Head Coach Grant Lofdahl said "The Big Meet at Grand Valley State is usually one of the best indoor track meets in the Midwest each year. The qualifying standards are very tough, so we're just taking a small group of athletes. The main goals are to hit NCAA qualifying marks and set ourselves up for a great conference championship meet, and If we break a school record or two on Friday, even better".
The team will also be in action Saturday (February 13th) as they travel to Tiffin University to compete in the Dragon Invite. Coach Lofdahl said "This will be our second of three trips to Tiffin this season, and the reason is that Tiffin is hosting the GLIAC Indoor Championships". "There is always some good competition there, and the experience we get competing in the Heminger Center will be invaluable when we come back in two weeks for the most important meet of the season" said coach Lofdahl.
Lake Erie will return to the track on Saturday (February 20th) when they compete in the Kent St. Tune up meet.
