GENEVA, Ohio – The Lake Erie College track and field team was in action today as they finished up the D-II Team Challenge at the Spire Institute.
The men were led by Jordan Pritchard (Painesville, Ohio / Lake Catholic) as he took first place honors in the 3000 meter in a time of 8:44.36 minutes. Jake Graham (Gomer, Ohio / Columbus Grove) ran the 3000 meters in a time of 8:54.24, which earned him second place honors.
Christopher Vogel (Kirchberg, Germany / Sportgymnasium Chemnitz) took third in the high jump as he cleared a height of 1.8 meters or 5'10.75".
The distance medley team of Austin Jones (Botkins, Ohio / Botkins) Dominic Trader (Fredicksburg, Pa. / Northern Lebanon), Brandon Bryan (Geneva, Ohio / Geneva), and Logan Ebersole (Chesterville, Ohio / Highland) placed fourth with a time of 10:47.82 minutes.
The Storm women were led by Nadia Lee (Tucker, Ga. / Tucker) as she won the triple jump clearing a distance of 11.58 meters or 38 feet.
Kaitlyn Menges (New Philadelphia, Ohio / New Philadelphia) took second place in the shot put with a distance of 13.07 meters or 42'10.75". Brenda Johnson (Bellefontaine, Ohio / Bellefontaine) earned fourth place honors in the shot put with a throw of 12.16 meters or 39'10.75".
Hailey Vanhoy (Geneva, Ohio / Geneva) took third in the 600 meter as she crossed the finish line in a time of 1:42.38 minutes.
Lake Erie will return to the track next week as they travel to compete in the Big Meet at Grand Valley St. University.
