Storm Impress at John Homon Open

ALLIANCE, Ohio—The Lake Erie College track and field team had several impressive finishes at the John Homon Open hosted by the University of Mount Union.

Ariana Jorgensen (Kleinburg, Ont./Emily Carr Secondary) won the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 14.92 seconds.  Ashley Pryce (Stow, Ohio/Stow Munroe Falls) finished eighth in the event with a time of 16.32 seconds.  Jorgensen also took seventh in the 100 meter dash with a time of 12.87 seconds.  Asya Hobbs (Lynwood, Ill./Bishop Noll) finished just behind Jorgensen with a time of 13.00 seconds. Sara Moore (Amherst, Ohio/Amherst) placed third in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:08.19.  Pryce took sixth with a time of 1:11.77 while Gina Henley finished seventh with a time of 1:12.55. Haley Menix took eighth in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:04.33. 

Kaitlyn Menges (New Philadelphia, Ohio/New Philadelphia) won the shot put with a throw of 12.55 meters (41'2.25"). She also finished sixth in the hammer throw with a toss of 44.15 meters (144'10").  Hannah Brehm-Gutting took fourth in the discus with a throw of 36.31 meters (120'1"). 

Nadia Lee (Tucker, Ga./Tucker) was victorious in the triple jump with a distance of 11.51 meters (37'925"). She also finished second in the long jump with a distance of 5.11 meters (16'9.25").  Danielle Corbin (Atlanta, Ga.) jumped 5.02 meters (16'5.75") to take fourth in the event.  Destiny Prusky (Newton Falls, Ohio/Newton Falls) won the high jump, clearing 1.67 meters (5'5.75").  Marie Hall (Pickerington, Ohio/Pickerington North) took fourth, clearing 1.52 meters (4'11.75"). 

The women's 4x100 meter relay team of Jorgensen, Corbin, Lee and Hobbs finished third with a time of 49.66 seconds.

Kurtis Taylor (Holland, Ohio/Southeast) finished fourth in the 110 hurdles with a time of 15.98 seconds while Justin Smith (Canal Fulton, Ohio/Northwest) took seventh with a time of 16.71 seconds. Jordan Sensabuagh won the 200 meter dash with a time of 22.61 seconds. Shavon Thompson (St. Andrew, Jamaica/Ardenne) took seventh in the event with a time of 23.36 seconds. Sensabaugh also finished third in the 400 meter dash with a time of 49.48 seconds.  Thompson placed second in the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.05 seconds.  Andre Husain Jr. (Cleveland Heights, Ohio/Holy Name) took sixth in the event with a time of 11.33 seconds. 

Sean Stone (Newton Falls, Ohio/Southeast) placed second in the hammer throw with a toss of 53.48 meters (174'5").  Jimmy Ritt (Mentor, Ohio/Mentor) took sixth in the event with a throw of 46.65 meters (153'1"). Douglas Moorer (Copley, Ohio/Copley) took second in the shot put with a throw of 13.89 meters (45'7"). Moorer also placed second in the discus with a throw of 49.98 meters (164'). Taylor finished eighth in the javelin with a toss of 43.14 meters (141'6").

Alex Jolly took second in the long jump with a leap of 6.48 meters (21'3.25").  Christopher Vogel (Kirchberg, Germany/Sportgymnasium Chemnitz) finished third in the event with a jump of 6.47 meters (21'2.75"). Vogel was victorious in the triple jump with a distance of 13.79 meters (45'3"). Matthew Mrosko (Wickliffe, Ohio/Wickliffe) finished third in the high jump clearing 1.98 meters (6'6"). 

The Storm is back in action April 11 at the Geroge Mason Spring Invite.
