AKRON, Ohio—The Lake Erie College track and field team improved several marks heading into National Championship selections at the Campbell Wright Invitational held at the University of Akron Saturday (May 10).
Leading the way for the Storm was senior high-jumper Jamil Dudley (Massillon, Ohio/Massillon). Dudley, this season's Indoor National Champion, jumped a personal and program best 2.26 meters (7'5") to win the event. The height marks the fourth best in all NCAA divisions this season and automatically qualifies him for the USA Track and Field National Championships in Sacramento, Calif. on June 26.
Freshman Nadia Lee (Tucker Ga./Tucker) improved her provisional mark in the triple jump, taking second place with a season and program best leap of 12.12 meters (39'9.25").
Junior Destiny Prusky (Newton Falls, Ohio/Newton Falls), a 2013 National Qualifier, improved her resume, taking second place with a height of 1.70 meters (5'7").
Senior thrower Kaitlyn Menges (New Philadelphia, Ohio/New Philadelphia) hit a provisional mark in the shot put with a throw of 13.72 meters (45'0.25").
The list of National Qualifiers is scheduled to be released Tuesday (May 13) at 6 p.m.
