PAINESVILLE, OHIO – The Lake Erie College men's track and field team moved up two spots this week to 17th in the latest United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association computer rankings released Tuesday (April 26).
The Storm is the third-ranked Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) team and stands at sixth in the Midwest region.
Last weekend, the 4x400-meter relay team reached provisional qualifying for the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships and 2001 All-Americans Chris Burrows (Trotwood, Ohio/Trotwood Madison) and Ethan Snyder (Salesville, Ohio/Buckeye Trail) posted top three individual finishes at the Jesse Owens Classic at Ohio State University.
Burrows finished second overall in the 100-meter dash, in a field of mostly Division I runners. The Storm had three individuals finish in the top nine in the 400-meter hurdles. In addition to Snyder's third place finish, sophomore Quinton Harley (Rochester, N.Y./Edison Tech) and classmate Isaac Snyder (Salesville, Ohio/Buckeye Trail) were sixth and ninth, respectively.
