PAINESVILLE, OHIO – Freshman hurdler Ethan Snyder (Salesville, Ohio/Buckeye Trail) will become be the first member of the Lake Erie College track and field team to compete in the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships when he steps into the starting blocks for the men's 400-meter hurdles on Thursday night (May 27).
Snyder and classmate Chris Burrows (Trotwood, Ohio/Trotwood Madison), who will run in the preliminaries of the men's 200-meter dash on Friday evening, are the first two Storm track athletes to make the national championships after each posted the 11th fastest qualifying time in their respective events.
The National Championships, hosted by Johnson C. Smith University at the Irwin Bell Track Complex, begin at 10:30 a.m. Thursday and run through Saturday's finals. Snyder will race in the prelims at 8:25 p.m. Thursday and Burrows will line up for the start of his race at 6:15 p.m. the next night. If both advance to Saturday's finals, those races will be run in the right o'clock hour.
