Softball Drops Two To Notre Dame College

PAINESVILLE, Ohio- The Lake Erie College softball team dropped a pair of games to the Notre Dame College Falcons this afternoon. With the losses, the Storm falls to 9-17 overall with a conference record of 5-7 heading into games with Cedarville and Findlay this weekend (April 13 and 14).

The Storm lost the first game 7-2, and the second game had a final score of 2-0. 

Junior infielder Kaitlin Peacock scored one of the runs in the Storm's non-conference matchup against the Falcons, going 2-5 at the plate. Peacock scored on a bunt single by Cheyanne Hamel. The second run of the game was scored on an RBI single hit by Taylor Phillips.

Parker Viele started in the circle for the Storm, giving up four runs but also earning four strikeouts. The freshman's record now stands at 5-4 on the year. Hayley Dix pitched in relief.

Freshman Rachel Ward pitched a complete game in the second contest of the doubleheader, allowing two runs on ten hits, one walk, and earned one strikeout. Additionally, the freshman hit in the cleanup position and went 1-2 with a double and a walk.
