PAINESVILLE, Ohio – The Lake Erie College softball team will be in Florida from Sunday (Feb. 25) through Friday (March 2) as they taken their annual spring break trip.
Storm Report: The Storm enters 2018 led by second year Head Coach Rebecca Dyer. In her first season Coach Dyer led the Storm to a 12-26 overall record, and was 5-17 in conference play. The Storm returns six starters from last season, five of which were named to All-Conference honors. Coach Dyer said, "After many tough losses last year, we are working hard and we are ready to prove ourselves in 2018."
Schedule: The Storm will play 10 games over six days in Florida. The Storm will open the season on Sunday (Feb. 25) when they play American International and Davenport, with the first pitch at 9 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. respectively. Lake Erie will then play Gannon, Cleary, Dominican, Nyack, Northern State, and Missouri St. Louis.
Coach Dyer concluded, "With our successful lineup returning and a full pitching staff we feel very prepared to compete in 2018."
Forecast: Lake Erie will return to the diamond Saturday (March 10) when they travel to play Edinboro in Salem, Virginia.
