Lake Erie Leads Region In Academic-All District Selections

(GREENWOOD, Indiana) – Three Lake Erie Storm student-athletes have been recognized for their efforts on and off the field as they were chosen to the 2019 Academic All-District® Men's Soccer Team. Jonathan Carr (Sr., Sunderland, England) was chosen at midfield, while Omar Oliveros-Alvarez (Sr., Gijon Spain) and Jamos Hauk (So., Aglasterhausen, Germany) were both picked as defenders.

All three have been instrumental in leading the Storm to their best season in program history. Carr has led the offense with 12 goals and five assists for 29 points through 18 games. Oliveros-Alvarez and Hauk have helped lead the defense to have the second-best team goals-against average in the nation at .347.

Carr is currently tied for No. 18 in the nation for goals scored, while the defense has pitched a national-best 12 clean sheets on the year.

The 2019 Academic All-District® Men's Soccer Team, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CoSIDA Academic All-America® program separately recognizes soccer honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

Honorees selected first-team Academic All-District® will advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot. Academic AllAmerica® honorees will be announced in early December.

The CoSIDA Academic All-District® teams include the student-athletes listed on the following pages and are divided into geographic districts across the United States and Canada.

The Division II and III CoSIDA Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2019-20 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CoSIDA Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA national office.
