(INDIANAPOLIS) – The second rankings for Super Region 3 has been released and Lake Erie has retained on to its No. 1 spot after a pair of shutouts last week. The Storm, ranked No. 4 in the national poll released yesterday, holds an overall and in-region record of 17-1.
Bellarmine remained at No. 2 as the future Division I program improved to 13-0-4. Fellow G-MAC member Ohio Valley also stayed in its No. 3 position despite a 3-0 loss to the Storm this past Thursday. Maryville and McKendree switched spots with the Saints serving as the new No. 4 team after a 1-0 win over the Bearcats.
UIndy, Cedarville, Tiffin, Fort Hays State, and Walsh complete the top 10. Davenport and Rogers State are currently on the outside looking in at 11 and 12, respectively.
There is plenty of potential shakeup still to happen as conference tournaments begin this week. The Storm will open up the G-MAC Tournament as the top seed and will host Malone this Saturday at 7 p.m. at Jack Britt Stadium. The conference semifinals and finals will follow the next weekend.
The NCAA tournament will begin the following week with 10 teams qualifying per region. Two of those 10 teams will be able to host first and second round games which start on Thursday, Nov. 21, and Friday, Nov. 22.
