    The 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-District Men’s & Women’s Soccer Teams have been announced today and Lake Erie’s Miguel Espinoza has been selected to it. The senior was selected as a forward and sports a cumulative 3.39 GPA while majoring in business administration and accounting.
  • Storm Falls Short In Overtime Heartbreaker to Tiffin

    Jubilation quickly turned to heartbreak as No. 5 Lake Erie fell in its upset bid of No. 1 Tiffin 3-2 in overtime at Heidelberg’s Hoernemann Stadium. The Storm (9-6-4) took a 2-0 lead into the final 10 minutes of the game before the nationally-ranked No. 22 Dragons (14-4) sent it to an extra period with a pair of goals 2:04 apart.
  • Storm Quintet Named to G-MAC All-Conference Team

    The Great Midwest Athletic Conference announced its postseason awards for men’s soccer this evening and five Lake Erie Storm players have been named to the All-Conference Team. Omar Oliveros-Alvarez, Miguel Espinoza, Javier Borreguero and Jonathan Carr were all named to the Second Team, while Ezekiel Ebenezer was chosen as an Honorable Mention.

    On Thursday, fifth-seeded Lake Erie will play in its first G-MAC Tournament semifinal game when it takes on top-seeded Tiffin at noon. The Storm are 9-5-4 overall after they took down No. 4 Ohio Dominican on Saturday. The task ahead of them won’t be easy as not only are the Dragons the top seed after winning the regular season G-MAC championship, but they are also newly ranked nationally at No. 22 with a record of 13-4.
  • Early Goal Leads Lake Erie Over Ohio Dominican

    Lake Erie’s G-MAC Tournament debut was a good one as it took down a higher seeded Ohio Dominican 1-0 on Saturday afternoon. The No. 5 Storm (9-5-4) defeated the No. 4 Panthers (8-9-1) for the second time on the road this season after also winning a 3-2 decision in September.
  • Storm Successful In Securing Playoff Bid With Win vs. Walsh

    Heading into today’s game at Walsh, Lake Erie knew the result it needed to keep its season alive. By the end of the first half, the Storm (8-5-4, 6-5-3) were well on their way to clinching a bid to the G-MAC tournament and eventually defeated the Cavaliers (7-10-1, 4-9-1) 3-1 at Milazzo Field.

    Tomorrow will be the most important day of the season for both the men’s and women’s soccer programs at Lake Erie College. It’s the final game of the regular season, and while the playoffs might not officially start until this Saturday, they will pseudo-start tomorrow for both teams.
