COLUMBUS, Ohio- The Lake Erie College men's soccer concluded a two game road stretch on Saturday (Sept. 16) with a match against the Ohio Dominican University Panthers.
The Storm fell to the Panthers 3-1 in the Great Midwest matchup.
Seven minutes into the game, Ohio Dominican converted a free kick into a goal for a 1-0 lead. The Panthers held a 1-0 lead at the intermission.
In the 57th minute, the Panthers took a 2-0 lead with a goal. Ohio Dominican added a third goal in the 81st minute on a deflection. Lake Erie got on the board with seven minutes left as Javier Borreguero (Nigran, Spain / Los Sauces School) scored off of a failed clear. The Panthers won the game 3-1.
Lake Erie took 12 shots in the second half, finishing with 14 shots overall in the game. Callum Davidson (Mercyside, England / Liverpool Football Club Foundation College) led the Storm with four shots, three on them on goal.
Tom John (Ahrensburg, Germany / Tennis Borussia Berlin) made six saves in the goal for the Storm.
Lake Erie hosts Alderson Broaddus University on Thursday (Sept. 21) at Jack Britt Memorial Stadium for a Great Midwest matchup.
