COLUMBUS, Ohio—The Lake Erie College men's soccer team fell on the road to Ohio Dominican University 1-0 Wednesday (Sept. 28) in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) play.
In the opening half, the Storm outshot the Panthers 7-5 but neither team was successful in finding the back of the net.
The Panthers broke up the scoreless game in the 59th minute when Ryan Kasprzak scored off an assist from Tanner Ebright. The Storm offense continued to pressure the Panthers with eight shots in the final 45 minutes of play but was unable to convert as they fell by a goal.
"Despite the score line, I thought the team played very good in 2/3's of the field," said Head Coach Kevin Brenner. "However, we need to be more clinical in final third and in front of goal. We had a number of chances to give ourselves the lead and we let them squander. We need to be laser focused and well prepared for Walsh on Sunday afternoon."
Goalie Hugo Faroux (Cannes, France/Lycee Bristol) made six saves. Stuart Campbell (Glassgow, Scotland/Glassgow Academy) had a pair of shots on goal.
The Storm is back in action at Walsh University Sunday (Oct. 2).
