BAY CITY, Mich.—The Lake Erie College soccer team will enter the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) playoffs hosted by Northwood University as the number three seed.
This marks the highest seeding for the Storm in the GLIAC postseason.
The Storm will face Saginaw Valley State University, the number two seed, in the opening round Friday (Nov. 6) at 10 a.m. The two teams have met twice this year, with each home team winning by a score of 3-2.
The winner of the Storm/Cardinals game will face the winner of the Northwood/Tiffin University game in the Championship match that Sunday.
The Storm finished the regular season with a 7-8-1 record but a 7-6-1 GLIAC mark. The Storm, Tiffin and the University of Findlay all finished with that mark in conference play but the Storm and the Dragons had the better goal differential to earn the last two seeds.
