MIDLAND, MICH. – The Lake Erie College men's soccer team was defeated by 10th ranked Northwood University today, 2-0. With the loss the Storm is 5-6-1 overall and 5-4-1 in the conference and with the win the Timberwolves are 11-1 overall and 9-1 in conference play.
Northwood took a 1-0 advantage in the 20th minute of the first half when Joey Censoni scored a header off of a free kick taken by Jack Smith.
The Timberwolves added to the lead in the second half when Michael Ankoviak found the back of the net off of an assist by Smith, to give Northwood a 2-0 advantage. The Timberwolves held on to win 2-0.
Filip Ljubevski (Ajax, Ont. / Pikering) was in net for the Storm, he faced 16 shots, eight of which were on goal, made six saves, and allowed two goals.
Lake Erie will be back in action Sunday (October 18th) when they travel to take on Saginaw Valley St. at 2:30 P.M.
