TIFFIN, Ohio – The Lake Erie College men's soccer team was victorious today (September 18th) over 16th ranked Tiffin, 2-1. With the win the Storm improve to 1-2-1 overall and 1-0-1 in conference play and with the loss Tiffin falls to 3-1-2 overall and 1-1 in the conference.
The Dragons took the lead with 10 minutes left in the first half when Matthew Tait found the back of the net off of an assist by Charlie Rolls to make the score 1-0.
In the second half the Storm tied the game when Nolyn Do Nascimento (Ajax, Ontario / Pickering) scored an unassisted goal to make the score, 1-1. The Storm took the lead with fifteen minutes remaining in the game when Stuart Campbell (Glassgow, Scotland / Glassgow Academy) found the back off the net off of an assist by Ryan Watson (Murrysville, Pa. / Franklin Regional), to give the Storm a 2-1 advantage.
In net for the Storm was Filip Ljubevski (Ajax, Ont. / Pikering) he faced 19 shots, 10 of which were on goal, made nine saves, and allowed one goal.
Lake Erie will be back in action Sunday (September 20th) when they travel to take on Findlay at 12 P.M.
