(PHILIPPI, W.Va.) - The Lake Erie men's lacrosse team bounced back in an emphatic way with a 15-7 victory over Alderson Broaddus in the Mountain State on a sunny Tuesday afternoon. The Storm (3-9, 3-2) blitzed the Battlers (1-10, 0-4) 8-2 in the opening half and cruised to the win from there.
The catalyst of the triumph came in the second quarter. Already up 2-1, Calvin "Hunter" Hays scored his third consecutive goal just 36 in which ignited a 6-1 frame for the Green and White. Patrick Bay, Tim Bay, Kyle Barna, and Mack Fall playing near his hometown of Morgantown also added goals.
Hays wasn't finished either as he opened the scoring in the second half to make it 9-2 in favor of Lake Erie thanks to a Barna helper. He finished with a game-high four goals.
Bret Swan added to is nation-leading faceoff win total as he went 17-of-25 for the day. The ground balls also racked up again as he snagged 11.
The Storm will close the regular season with another trip to the Alleghenies when they head to Davis & Elkins next Saturday. Faceoff is set for 4 p.m.
