Storm Bounce Back In 15-7 vs. Battlers

(PHILIPPI, W.Va.) - The Lake Erie men's lacrosse team bounced back in an emphatic way with a 15-7 victory over Alderson Broaddus in the Mountain State on a sunny Tuesday afternoon. The Storm (3-9, 3-2) blitzed the Battlers (1-10, 0-4) 8-2 in the opening half and cruised to the win from there.

The catalyst of the triumph came in the second quarter. Already up 2-1, Calvin "Hunter" Hays scored his third consecutive goal just 36 in which ignited a 6-1 frame for the Green and White. Patrick Bay, Tim Bay, Kyle Barna, and Mack Fall playing near his hometown of Morgantown also added goals.

Hays wasn't finished either as he opened the scoring in the second half to make it 9-2 in favor of Lake Erie thanks to a Barna helper. He finished with a game-high four goals.

Patrick Bay finished with three goals and an assist, while Tim Bay added a goal and three assists to also record four points.

Conor Sharkey got the start in goal and played the first half. He allowed the two goals on 15 shots faced with four saves. Johnny Wilson III entered for the second half and made five saves.

Bret Swan added to is nation-leading faceoff win total as he went 17-of-25 for the day. The ground balls also racked up again as he snagged 11.

The Storm will close the regular season with another trip to the Alleghenies when they head to Davis & Elkins next Saturday. Faceoff is set for 4 p.m.
