PAINESVILLE, Ohio – The eighth ranked Lake Erie College men's lacrosse team will be in action Wednesday (April 25) when they host Roberts Wesleyan on Senior Day.
Storm Report: The Storm is 10-2 overall and 6-1 in Great Midwest Athletic Conference action. The Storm is coming off a win over 11th ranked Mercy. Head Coach Steve Gartelman said, "The emotion will be tough as it's very likely the last time these seniors and this team will compete at Jack Britt Stadium. They have given us all so much throughout the years, and we want to thank them for their efforts and to know their contributions live on through the future men of the Storm."
Opposition Position: The Redhawks are 6-7 overall and 2-3 in conference play, and are coming off a loss to Mercyhurst. Coach Gartelman added, "Roberts controls the tempo by controlling the ball on offense and mixing up Man to Man / Zone looks on defense. We need to have good awareness of the game flow and what they are running to be sure that our team is always on the same page."
Coach Gartelman concluded, "Playing for one another, selfless and fast passed lacrosse is our key. The men know what we want to do on the field but in the heat of the moment, in an emotional last game at Jack Britt we need to stay focused on playing at a high caliber and not trying to make things happen. Good, simple and consistent lacrosse played at a high tempo wins this one for the Storm."
Forecast: The Storm has clinched a spot in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference tournament, and will play their semifinal match on Thursday (May 3).
