Storm Faces Lindenwood in ECAC Semifinals (PREVIEW)

The second-seed Lake Erie College men's lacrosse team will play third-seed Lindenwood University in the semifinals of the ECAC Championships hosted by Mercyhurst University.

LAST TIME OUT: The Storm offense exploded for 22 goals as they defeated Wheeling Jesuit University 22-13.  Courtland Black-Araujo led the Storm with seven goals and one assist.  Lucas Shafer scored five and assisted on two more.  Edmond Renaud had six points on four goals and two assists.  Mitchell Shafer netted two and assisted on one more while Mitchell Stokes had two goals.  Tim Bay and Zach Bruening rounded out the goals for the Storm while Brandon Donohue, John Kezerian and Tyler Smoot had assists. Bret Swan led the Storm with eight groundballs.  Donohue had four while Smoot and Lucas Shafer had three apiece.  Smoot had a team-high two caused turnovers.  Tom Lipomi picked up the win in net, making seven saves.

SERIES HISTORY: The Storm is 5-0 all-time against the Lions.  Early this season, the Storm prevailed in overtime at Lindenwood, 8-7.

OPPOSITION POSITION: The Lions finished the regular season with a 9-5 overall record and a 5-3 mark in GLIAC play.  David Corazalla led the Lions offense with 37 points on 29 goals and eight assists.  Ben Besancenez has all the decision in net.

UP NEXT: The winner faces the winner of top-seed Mercyhurst and fourth seed University of Indianapolis in the finals on Sunday (May 8).
