Storm Hosts Ohio Valley to Open ECAC Play (PREVIEW)


MARCH 16 at 7 PM 

The ninth-ranked Lake Erie College men's lacrosse team welcomes Ohio Valley University to Painesville for their ECAC season opener. 

LAST TIME OUT: The Storm fell to second-ranked Le Moyne College 22-9 last Saturday. Mitchell Shafer led the Storm offense with four goals and one assist.  Courtland Black-Araujo scored three goals.  Brandon Donohue and Kole Robinson scored a goal apiece. Liam Smith picked up nine groundballs while Mack Fall had three.  Donohue and Robinson caused two turnovers apiece. 

SERIES HISTORY: This marks the fourth meeting between the Storm and the Fighting Scots with the Storm winning the previous three matchups.  Last season, the Storm shut out the Fighting Scots 19-0 in West Virginia. 

OPPOSITION POSITION: The Fighting Scots enter the game with a 1-2 record.  In their most recent outing, they defeated the University of Alabama in Huntsville 17-14 on the road.  Steve Zolezzi Jr. leads Ohio Valley's offense with 15 goals and two assists.  Alexander Naftal has started all three games in net, making 42 saves. 

UP NEXT: The Storm remains at home to face Pfieffer University Saturday (March 19).
