Tarte, Brown and Bishop Earn ECAC POW Honors

CENTERVILLE, Mass.—Trevor Tarte (Amhertsburg, Ont./Kiski Prep), Rashad Brown (Lockport, N.Y./Lockport/Genesse/Mars Hill) and Austin Bishop (Hamburg, N.Y./Hamburg) earned ECAC Offensive Player, Specialist and Rookie of the Week honors for their performances in wins over Ohio Valley University and Alderson-Broaddus University last week.

Tarte netted five goals and one assist on Wednesday (March 19) against Ohio Valley before scoring goals and assisting on two against Alderson-Broaddus.  For the week, Tarte had 12 points on nine goals and three assists.

Brown was a force on the faceoff for the Storm this week.  Against Ohio Valley, Brown won 16-of-18 faceoffs, grabbed seven groundballs and assisted on two goals.  Against Alderson-Broaddus, Brow won 13-of-18 faceoffs and grabbed seven groundballs.  For the week, Brown went 29-of-36 (80%) on faceoffs, grabbed 14 groundballs and assisted on two goals.

Bishop continued his outstanding freshman campaign last week.  Against Ohio Valley, Bishop scored four goals and grabbed two groundballs.  Against Alderson-Broaddus, Bishop scored four goals, assisted on two more and grabbed three groundballs.  For the week, Bishop tallied 10 points on eight goals, two assists and had five groundballs.

Justin Goodwin (New Westminster, B.C./New Westminster Secondary) was named to the weekly honor roll.  For the week, Goodwin had 13 groundballs-including 10 against Alderson-Broaddus, caused five turnovers and had one assist.

The Storm is back in action Wednesday (March 26) against 13th-ranked Wheeling Jesuit University.
