    Lake Erie will be home for the holidays as it opens up a four game home stand against Ohio Valley on Saturday afternoon. The Storm (6-4, 1-1) split the opening G-MAC weekend in a pair of overtime games while the Fighting Scots (2-7, 0-2) fell to Hillsdale 71-70 at home the last time out.

    Gabe Kynard has been named the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Player of the Week for the second time in his career after two outstanding efforts to open up league play. The senior guard averaged 29.5 points per game while he shot 55.6% from the field and a 6.5 rebound average.

    A 31-point effort by Gabe Kynard (Sr., Toledo, Ohio) helped Lake Erie get back on track with a monstrous 100-71 victory over Edinboro Sunday afternoon. The offense explosion saw the Storm (5-3) hit the century mark for the first time in two seasons and record their highest shooting percentage in three.

    A last second shot by Clarion broke Lake Erie’s hearts as the attempt that held on top of the rim dropped through the middle and handed the Storm a 64-62 defeat Tuesday afternoon. The result snapped a four-game win streak for Lake Erie (4-3) and gave the Golden Eagles (1-5) their first victory of the season.

    Gabe Kynard’s (Sr., Toledo, Ohio) 3-pointer at the buzzer lifted Lake Erie to a thrilling 85-82 victory over Rollins in the first game of its Florida road Friday evening. The triple was Kynard’s fourth of the night as he led the Storm (2-2) with 24 points against the Tars (2-2).

Kaleb Vaughn tallied 16 for game-high honors while Gabe Kynard recorded his first double-double of the season with 14 points and 11 rebounds.

    Kyle Conley, now in his fourth season as head coach of the Lake Erie men’s basketball team, announced the 2019-20 schedule Friday. The Storm will take on a competitive slate that features with 10 non-conference games, six contests against teams against playoff teams, and 18 G-MAC games.
